Case Study: How a Regional Broadcaster Launched 12 FAST Channels in 90 Days

In Q3 2025, a European regional broadcaster approached Evrideo with an ambitious goal: launch 12 FAST channels across 8 streaming platforms before the end of the year. Their existing infrastructure — a mix of on-premise playout servers and manual distribution workflows — made this timeline impossible without significant investment in hardware and headcount.

The Challenge

The broadcaster had a strong content library: 15,000 hours of local news, entertainment, and sports content. What they lacked was the infrastructure to package, schedule, and distribute this content at scale. Their existing team of 8 engineers was already fully occupied maintaining their linear broadcast operations.

The Approach

Rather than building parallel infrastructure, the broadcaster chose to migrate their entire digital distribution operation to Evrideo. The migration was structured in three phases:

  1. Phase 1 (Days 1-30): Content library ingest and metadata enrichment. 15,000 hours of content was ingested, analysed, and tagged using Evrideo's AI-powered content analysis tools.
  2. Phase 2 (Days 31-60): Channel configuration and scheduling. 12 channel identities were defined, programme grids were built, and SSAI was configured for each target platform.
  3. Phase 3 (Days 61-90): Platform onboarding and launch. Feeds were configured for each of the 8 target platforms, tested, and launched.

The Results

All 12 channels launched on schedule. Six months after launch:

  • Combined monthly viewership: 2.3M hours
  • Ad revenue: €180K/month and growing
  • Operational cost: 40% lower than projected for equivalent on-premise infrastructure
  • Engineering headcount added: 0

The Key Insight

"We didn't just launch 12 channels," said the broadcaster's Head of Digital. "We built the operational capability to launch 12 more whenever we want. That's the real value — the agility."
